Hindsæter is situated above the scenery road Valdresflya, with view over the river Sjoa and to the peaks of Jotunheimen.
Drive Valdresflya one way and the valley via Lillehammer the other to get the best of culture and nature experience.
The closest train station is Otta, 60 km. Bus only in summer, between Beitostølen and Vågå/Lom.

Øivind and Mari-Ann, are delighted to welcome you to Hindsæter. We feel most at home outdoors – whether gathered around a crackling fire, with a fishing rod in hand, or with the camera ready to capture moments in nature. Feel free to ask Øivind for hiking suggestions, great fishing spots, or tips on fire-building. He also bakes bread that usually makes guests reach for an extra slice.
Mari-Ann takes care of our guests, curates memorable food experiences, and is happy to share recommendations for good photo spots and nature experiences in the area. On cold days, she’ll gladly serve you a cup of homemade hot chocolate.
We have twin girls who love being outdoors – climbing, sledding, and experimenting with their own bread recipes. From time to time, Mari-Ann’s grown children, Anna and August, can also be seen around the hotel, lending a hand when needed.
Our hotel cat, Hindine, keeps a watchful eye on everything and makes sure the mice stay at a safe distance.
